You can find some of the Casa Susegad Jewellery Collection in this wonderful shop in Balham run by Carolyn Cowan. The shop is a Glittering Emporium filled with delights for Christmas. The new elephants have disembarked, filled with stories of Somalian pirates and nautical adventures. They are all delightful, perched on shelves and trying to look up the skirts of the mannequins. Carolyn finds the selection herself in the nooks and crannies of India. I wander through markets less than a meter wide, go into deep desert sands, meet weavers, dyers and jewellers from the far flung reaches of the continent of India to find those one-off pieces that make Devotion so unique. Despite the effort put in, the gift collection starts at £2. The big wooden table is piled high with wonderful stocking fillers, small gifts and glittered delights for all ages. And a lot of it is on the website too.
