Our Projects

We currently have three ongoing projects in Goa and we are setting up the fourth – the engineering scholarship that is just about to be launched in my late father’s name.

Our Lady of Rosary School, Mandrem
The original opportunity for Helping Elsewhere to contribute. An ill-equipped school led by an inspirational headmistress. Now it is starting to achieve superb results for the local kids and the investment has paid off.

Bookworm Goa, Panjim
Bookworm Goa – the place where children learn to love books – is a growing organisation devoted to enhancing literacy in Goa’s kids. With many strings to their bow, we are helping Sujata and Elaine and their team to realise their truly great potential.

Light Up a Life, Tribal Villages
High up in the mountains on the borders of Goa live children who attend school by walking a round trip of over five miles on steep unmade roads. Then when they get home and try to do their homework, the power goes off again and life is plunged into darkness. Helping Elsewhere are funding solar panels so the kids have a chance.

The John Rowe Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship will be awarded each year to a young Goan who wishes to train in the field of engineering, my late dad’s career path.
